Terms of Service

1. The service

WeScanTransfer Drop moves files between your own devices and, via DropMail, to people you choose — over encrypted connections, with automatic deletion (24h for device↔device, 48h for DropMail unless deleted sooner). Using the service means you accept these terms.

2. Your content stays yours

You keep full ownership of everything you transfer. You grant us only the minimal technical license needed to store and deliver it for the retention window. We never open your files, analyze them for marketing, or train AI on them.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to transfer illegal content, malware, or content you have no right to share; don't abuse, overload, or attempt to break the service or other people's sessions; don't use DropMail for spam. We may block transfers, file types, or sources that endanger the service or its users.

4. Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content you transfer, for sharing links only with people you trust, and for downloading what you need before it auto-deletes. Expired content is unrecoverable — by design.

5. Plans, trials and billing

The core service — transferring files between your own devices — is free and needs no account. Plus and Pro are optional paid subscriptions that add larger files, longer retention and saved storage. Prices are shown on the pricing page before you buy.

Free trial: paid plans start with a 30-day free trial. We collect your payment details up front and, unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription and your payment method is charged the price shown at signup. We email you before the trial ends.

Recurring billing: subscriptions renew automatically each month or year, at the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel. You authorise us (through our payment processor) to charge your payment method for each renewal.

Cancelling: you can cancel at any time from your account, in one click, with no phone call or email required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — you keep the plan until then, and you are not charged again. Cancelling during the trial means you are never charged at all.

Refunds: charges already made are generally non-refundable except where required by law. If you are in the EU, UK or another jurisdiction with a statutory withdrawal right, that right applies in addition to these terms. If something has genuinely gone wrong, contact us — we would rather fix it than keep the money.

Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails we retry it for a short period and email you. If it keeps failing the subscription ends and the account returns to the free plan.

Price changes: we may change subscription prices. Any change applies from your next renewal, and we tell you before it takes effect so you can cancel first.

What happens when a paid plan ends: your account returns to the free plan. Files saved to your vault and your stored transfer history are no longer accessible, and may be deleted. Download anything you want to keep before your plan ends.

Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.

6. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

7. Your account

Free use needs no account. Paid plans require one, and you are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure. You can delete your account at any time from your account page; deleting cancels any active subscription, and permanently removes your saved files, folders and transfer history. Deletion cannot be undone.

8. Changes & termination

We may update the service and these terms; material changes get a notice on the site. You can stop using the service at any time — "Delete now" wipes your data instantly.
