FAQ

How do I transfer files from my phone to my computer without USB?

Pair the devices in their browsers with a QR code, choose the file on the phone and download it on the computer. No cable, desktop driver or cloud account is required.

Where do transferred files go on the computer?

They are downloaded to the location configured by your browser, usually the Downloads folder unless the browser asks you to choose a location.

Will iPhone photos be converted from HEIC?

No. WeScanTransfer preserves the original file. A HEIC image remains HEIC, so convert it separately only if the destination software needs JPEG.

Do I need to install an app or create an account?

No. Drop runs in the browser on both devices. Open the site on your computer, scan the QR with your phone camera, and you're transferring. Apps exist too, but they're optional.

Is it really free?

Yes — transfers up to 3 GB per file are free, with no signup. Files self-delete after 24 hours, which is also why it stays private.

Is my data safe?

Transfers are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256), links are unguessable, and everything hard-deletes after 24 hours. We never open or scan your files.
